Check what's on before you set off: with a big event, yesterday's free street simply doesn't exist.

The AREA is Barcelona's regulated street parking, and it reads in colour: àrea blava is rotation, meant for people passing through, while àrea verda gives residents priority, with conditions that vary from one neighbourhood to another. Where there's a painted line there's a rule — check it before you walk away from the car.
Barcelona has an active low-emission zone, the Zona de Baixes Emissions Rondes de Barcelona. Whether you may drive through it depends on your vehicle's environmental badge and the rules in force at the time: it's a condition of the car, not of the space you park in.
