Where to park in Valencia, zone by zone

Valencia doesn't fill up all at once: the pressure point travels with the season, the calendar and the hour. Here's each zone's logic, no numbers — compare it in the app right before you leave, which is when it actually decides.

Ciutat Vella

The old town, with the Mercado Central and the Lonja at the centre of the scene, is largely pedestrianised or reserved for residents. The little kerb left over is split between car parks and ORA bays, and you're sharing it with everyone who came for the same streets.

Estació del Nord and Joaquín Sorolla

The two stations sit a short walk apart, so high-speed and commuter passengers spill onto the same handful of streets on the edge of Russafa. Demand arrives in waves, one per train.

Search around both, not just the entrance you're using — the space is often nearer the other one.

Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias

The museums, the Oceanogràfic and event days bring families by car, and nearly all of them arrive within the same window. This is weekend, calendar-driven demand rather than a weekday routine.

On a Saturday or an event day, decide before you set off: by the time you arrive you're not choosing, you're accepting.

La Malvarrosa and the seafront

As soon as the heat sets in, the beach becomes the city's default destination and the grid behind the promenade fills early in the afternoon. Out of season, those same streets are a different place.

In summer the later you arrive, the further out you park: budget for it, or head straight to a car park.

The hospitals, starting with La Fe

Appointments, discharges and visiting hours move demand hour by hour around La Fe and the city's other large hospitals. The pattern here isn't measured in days, it's measured in slots.

    The ORA is Valencia's regulated street parking, and it's read by colour: blue bays are for rotation, orange bays give residents priority, with conditions that change from one zone to the next. Before you walk away from the car, read the painted line and the sign post — everything hangs on them. And be clear about its limits: the ORA rules how you park, not where you may drive; entering Ciutat Vella hangs on the APR, the Área de Prioridad Residencial covering the historic centre.

Driving up to the door there is nothing like doing it in any other Valencia neighbourhood — without a permit, plan on leaving the car earlier. With a destination inside, what works is parking just outside it, among car parks and ORA bays, and covering the last stretch on foot. For the low-emission zone (ZBE), the reference is Valencia City Council: it publishes what applies at any given time, and that's where you check it before you take the car out.
