Where to park in Dos Hermanas, Seville

Dos Hermanas, in the province of Seville, answers the parking question one settlement at a time: the old villa, the two state colonisation villages raised on drained marshland — Fuente del Rey and Adriano — and Montequinto were founded apart and still sort out their traffic apart, so the answer changes with the one you are heading for. Doobl is a free parking app for iPhone and Android that brings together every way to park near your destination: car parks, how likely you are to park on each street, EV chargers and accessible bays.

The four options

The four ways to park, settlement by settlement

The same search returns a different answer depending on the settlement: the old villa has streets laid before the car, while Montequinto, Vistazul and the colonisation villages were drawn with wide blocks and lots of their own. So Doobl gathers the car parks, the street and the chargers around your destination and compares them by what they’ll actually cost you in time and money.

  • Car parks

Under cover, parking sits where the big retail and the newer facilities are: the enclosures on the old highway hold ground of their own, while the old villa makes do with small rotation lots. In Doobl they show up with their price, beside the kerb and the chargers.

  • The street

Street width changes from one settlement to the next, and the habit changes with it: the old villa parks in line and tight against the passing traffic, while the colonisation villages and Montequinto park in echelon, with open lots at the foot of the blocks. What holds on any stretch is whatever sign is in front of you, not what the next district does.

  • Chargers

Sevilla Factory and the open lots of the newer settlements are where an electric car finds room to stand still for as long as a charge takes; the old villa hardly gives that slack. In Doobl the chargers appear in the same list as the car parks.

  • Accessible bays

This too is read settlement by settlement: each one keeps its own bays reserved for people with reduced mobility beside its health centre, its school and its market, and the old villa is the only place where reaching them depends on whether the street is closed that day.

Where people head

Five destinations, and none of them is the centre of the rest

One municipal roll spreads these five destinations across villages that never shared a street plan: the old quarter comes from the villa, Montequinto rose detached from it, the retail enclosure was built facing the highway and the fairground occupies open, unfenced ground. Going from one to another is not changing district, it is changing logic.

Historic centre

The old villa is the only one of the five destinations with streets laid before the car: short blocks around the town-hall square, shops at street level and little pavement to give away. The weekly street market does not take that square but the street bordering it, so the one market morning and the everyday trade never contend for the same ground: each has its own, and whoever knows it parks on the side that stays open.

Ask which mouth of the street is open before you drive in: on market morning the closure does not take the whole centre, only one street and its accesses, and reversing out of a stretch of the villa costs more time than going round it.

Montequinto and the metro

Montequinto is the only settlement with a metro of its own, and that line carries it to Seville without crossing the rest of the municipality. The practical consequence sits in the park-and-ride at the end of it: its conditions are set by the metropolitan transport consortium, not by the council the address belongs to. The authority that governs that bay and the one that governs the kerb opposite are not the same.

The metro lot and the kerb opposite answer to different administrations, so the hours of one say nothing about the hours of the other; check it where it belongs before you count on the space.

Sevilla Factory Dos Hermanas

Sevilla Factory Dos Hermanas went up before the housing that now surrounds it, and it was turned towards the old Madrid to Cádiz road rather than towards a ring or a bypass: its frontage faces through traffic and it never had to come to terms with a town centre. So you arrive along the same axis you leave by, and the usual mistake is to look for it from the villa instead of from the road.

The right access depends on which way you are travelling along the old axis: crossing at the wrong point forces a turn-around that, on a shopping afternoon, is the slowest stretch of the trip.

Cercanías: Dos Hermanas and Cantely

A single Cercanías commuter line makes two stops inside the same municipal term, and the second exists because the first had run short: Dos Hermanas was born with the villa, and Dos Hermanas-Cantely opened later, on the side the town had kept growing towards. Anyone catching a train therefore has two platforms that do not compete for the same street, and choosing wrong means parking in the wrong district.

Read the full stop name on your ticket before you leave home: both carry the town’s name, and mixing them up costs a whole extra trip inside the municipality.

Vistazul fairground

Vistazul neither closes nor charges admission, and that changes completely how the cars arrive: instead of funnelling towards one access, they turn up along the whole perimeter at once and settle on whichever edge each driver had nearest. On feria and romería days the surrounding district takes in what the ground itself cannot hold.

At night with the fairground full, the edge you came in by decides the walk back, so it is worth having chosen it before setting off rather than on arrival.

The rules

What blocks the way in Dos Hermanas

  • Street closures by calendar

The old villa closes by occasion and not by perimeter: the council shuts streets for the weekly market, for the feria and for the Romería de Valme, and the shape of the closure changes with the occasion. On the other days you drive through normally, and what orders each stretch is its own signing. The calendar and the conditions of each closure are set and updated by the City Council of Dos Hermanas.

Doobl in Dos Hermanas

Each settlement poses a different search, and Doobl works them out on one screen: you say where you are going and you see what is around that point, not what is around the middle of the municipality.

  1. Search your destination

Type the exact place — a street in the villa, the retail enclosure, a platform — and not the name of the municipality: here that last one decides nothing.

  2. Compare

You see at once what is around that point and what getting to each option will really cost you.

  3. Park

You set off with the decision made and the walk at the far end already counted in.

FAQ

Parking in Dos Hermanas, question by question

How do you park in Dos Hermanas?
Name the settlement before the street: the old villa, Montequinto, the retail enclosure on the old highway and the ground around the stations work as separate villages, and what solves one does not pass to the next. Search your destination in Doobl by typing the exact place rather than the name of the municipality, because here the municipality as a whole is not yet an answer.
Where can you park for free in Dos Hermanas?
The planned layouts are where you park without paying and with fewer laps, because the room was set aside on the drawing board: Montequinto keeps depth behind its blocks and the colonisation villages gave every house a frontage of its own. In the old villa it works the other way round, and the margin appears once you leave the short blocks for the avenues that ring them; whoever tries it in reverse ends up circling the same block.
Where do you park for Sevilla Factory Dos Hermanas?
Sevilla Factory Dos Hermanas is looked for from the road and not from the villa: the enclosure went up before the district that now surrounds it and its frontage faces through traffic, so arriving is a question of which way you are already travelling. Doobl brings together every option around Sevilla Factory Dos Hermanas, including what lies on the far side of the axis, which is what almost nobody looks at.
Do you pay to park in Dos Hermanas?
You pay where there is a roof or a barrier — the retail car parks and the private enclosures — and out on the street what decides is the sign in front of you, a different one in each settlement because each was signed in the period it was built: in the villa the markings are mostly for loading and for reaching the doorways, in the newer layouts for the entrances to the lots and the garages. The council has worked so far at adding public surface parking rather than at regulating the kerb, and in Doobl, when you pick a car park, we tell you the current tariffs and conditions, and you can check them against the Dos Hermanas City Council’s own site.
Can you drive into the centre of Dos Hermanas?
Read the calendar before the map: what closes the old villa is not a fixed perimeter but the occasions the council repeats season after season — the weekly market, the feria and the Romería de Valme — and each one cuts a different shape. The rest of the time you drive in normally and park where the sign allows. There is also a metropolitan low-emission project across the Seville area that reaches this municipality; whatever it comes to ask for is set and updated by the City Council.
Where do you park for the Dos Hermanas feria?
Vistazul fills along its whole outline. Because the fairground has no gate and sells no ticket, the cars do not queue towards an access: they spread over the entire edge at once and each driver stops at the first gap on the side they arrived from. That rewards choosing your side at home and punishes circling the ground once the night has started, when the surrounding streets are taking in what the ground will not hold.
Where can you charge an electric car in Dos Hermanas?
Each settlement produces its own kind of trip, and that is where the answer is: the old villa is the one for errands, where the car barely stops, while an afternoon at Sevilla Factory Dos Hermanas is a stay and not an errand, and that is the halt where plugging in pays. When the point occupies a marked bay, that bay’s sign still governs, and in Doobl the charger goes into the same comparison as the car park and the kerb.
What is Doobl?
Here it gets asked one settlement at a time, because a search aimed at the whole municipality answers for none of them. Doobl is a free parking app for iPhone and Android that brings together every way to park near your destination: car parks, how likely you are to park on each street, EV chargers and accessible bays.

Your city parks every day. Nobody was measuring it.

Doobl measures how a city’s parking actually works: where spaces are missing, when each street fills up, how much the regulated zone turns over — and turns it into information a one-off traffic count doesn’t show.

The result is an objective basis for planning supply, adjusting the regulated zone or backing a SUMP with evidence.
